Picture this: a massive crowd has gathered.

Thousands of people—men, women, and children—are sitting on a hillside, their faces filled with hunger and hope.

They’ve been following Jesus all day, listening to His teachings, watching His miracles. Now the sun is starting to set, and the disciples are worried.

“How will we feed all these people?” they ask Jesus. “Even months of wages wouldn’t be enough to buy food for everyone.”

The crowd murmurs. The disciples look at each other, searching for a solution. Then, a young boy steps forward.

He’s clutching a small lunch: five loaves of bread and two fish. It’s not much, just enough for him to eat. He looks down at it, then up at the crowd. What difference could it possibly make?

But something inside him says, “Give it to Jesus.”

So he does.

What happens next is nothing short of miraculous. Jesus takes that small lunch, blesses it, and multiplies it. The crowd of over 5,000 people eats until they’re full—and there are baskets of leftovers.

As I reflected on this story today, it made me pause and think. The boy’s offering wasn’t much by itself. But in the hands of Jesus, it became part of something extraordinary.

Today, the world is filled with crowds just like that one—people searching, hungry, and desperate for hope. They may not even realize it, but what they truly need is Jesus. And just like that crowd on the hillside, they’re waiting for someone to step forward and make a way.

And then I had this thought:

What if today, on Giving Tuesday—a day dedicated to generosity and making an impact—we each brought our “loaves and fish”?

What if each of us gave something as simple as $1 to spread more hope online through prayer?

Just like that boy’s small offering fed thousands, I believe that what we offer to God today can reach countless lives.
